  • THE SILENT PATIENT- GRADE 7/10

This true psychological thriller did not live up to the hype for me. The story drug on and on and I found myself barely getting through it while waiting for the twist at the end. Fell short of expectations. Very interesting perspectives if you’re into mental health though.

  • NOVEMBER 9TH- GRADE 9/10

The most fast paced book I’ve ever read. When I first picked it up I noticed how short it was and assumed it must not be that good if the story could be told in such few words. Wrong. The perfect vacation read. Loved it.

  • THINGS WE NEVER GOT OVER - GRADE 7/10

Never judge a book by its cover… but the cover was so beautiful I bought it immediately (and its sequel.) *cringe* The first half of this book was painful to get through. I’m no literary scholar but the dialogue was, “elementary” to me. I kept thinking, “nobody speaks like that.” I was also triggered about twice per page by the main love interest. Thumbs down on him. Not a terrible book, once you get about halfway. Will look great on my bookshelf at least.

  • THE HOUSEMAID- GRADE 9/10

Really enjoyed this one. I either read a book in 3 days or it take me months. I gobbled this one up. Literally could not put it down. There’s a sequel too!

  • IT ENDS WITH US- GRADE 3/10

Meh. This didn’t live up to the hype for me. I never felt connected to the characters and I saw the ending coming from a mile away. Pretty sure I threw the book across the room when I finished it.

  • VERITY- GRADE 10/10

The book I can’t shut up about. The characters are complex. The story line is thrilling, twisting and jaw dropping. One of those books where the second you finish it, you are dying to discuss the ending with someone. There are a couple of extra chapters the author wrote available online that continue to mind boggle me. This book is unique to the rest of Colleen Hoover’s books and the most suspenseful. LOVE IT.

  • You Are a Badass- GRADE 10/10

The book that started it all. This book almost completely single handedly gave me the self confidence I needed to put myself out there and start blogging. I have listened to the audible version at least three times & I recommend the one narrated by the author herself, Jen Sincero. She is the witty and no nonsense older sister I always wanted. I also own the hardcopy. Good kick in the a$$ to make something happen in your life.

  • LIFE OF PI- GRADE 8/10

So descriptive it’s painful. Confusing and then WHAM… the ending blows your mind. If you can get through it this will be a book you will never forget for the rest of your life. I couldn’t stop thinking about it for weeks after reading. Truly a masterpiece.

  • THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN- 5/10

Massively overrated. But not a bad book. Main character is a alcoholic and doesn’t know if she can trust her own memories which adds a fun dynamic. I like how it kept switching perspectives throughout the book. Kept it interesting. But this isn’t a book I’d widely recommend.

  • UNTAMED- GRADE 4/10

Feel like I wasn’t the targeted demographic for this one. Written like a memoir but also filled with advice and felt quite “preachy” at times. If you’re on the fence about getting a divorce and need to be pushed over the edge to get one… this might be the book for you.

  • VALLEY OF THE DOLLS- GRADE 6.5/10

This is the 1960's version of Sex & the City. This book was very popular back in the 60's. I wanted to see what the fuss was about. Back then I could see how it was salacious, but it doesn’t quite translate to modern standards and falls a little flat.

  • THE SUBTLE ART OF NOT GIVING A F*UCK- GRADE 0/10

I’ll tell you what I don’t give a f*ck about, this book. So far the best part of it is the title. I have tried to read this for over a year. Every time I pick it up again I’m like, “where is this going? How’d I get here?” Will update review if I can ever get through it.
